Over 700 of the city’s movers and shakers walked the red carpet to attend Hudson Unveiled, our exclusive grand opening bash. To show off the diversity of the space, the O&B Events team planned for three theme transitions throughout the evening. The event kicked off in true Hudson’s Bay fashion with notes of Canadiana. Servers donning wooly toques passed rye cocktails spiked with bacon and maple syrup, as well as Canuck-style canapés like smoked deviled eggs and truffle mac & cheese with Heinz ketchup. O&B’s team of talented chefs also set up a variety of interactive food stations, including an East Coast oyster and B.C. halibut ceviche bar, and a Beretta Farms brisket slider station.
The sixth floor then transformed into a red hot party, featuring a three-piece band and high-energy dancers. Female servers swapped their toques in favour of a bold red lip, while the guys opted for lip print stickers on their cheeks. Guests took advantage of the Dior lipstick bar, while others sipped on glasses of The Guild’s signature sangria with watermelon, pineapple and strawberry popsicles. The final theme of the night was neon electric, at which point bartenders threw on their LED glasses and glow-in-the-dark bracelets, and started shaking up tequila cocktails garnished with LED ice cubes. Guests indulged in cotton candy on glow sticks – one of many delicious desserts passed at the end of the evening.
