Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality — Accessible Customer Service Plan

 

Commitment Statement
Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for our people and guests with disabilities. We are committed to ensuring guests with disabilities can visit our restaurants and event spaces in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence.

We will do everything in our power to remove and prevent barriers to accessibility and meet our accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarian with Disabilities Act and Ontario’s accessibility laws.

Information and Communication
We will communicate with guest with disabilities in ways that take into account their disability. Upon request, we will provide any information made to the public, in accessible alternative formats or with communication support.

Assistive Devices
Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality welcomes guests with disabilities to use assistive devices to obtain, use or benefit from our goods and services.

Support Persons
Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality welcomes persons with disabilities who are accompanied by a support person. At no time will a person with a disability who is accompanied by a support person be prevented from having access to his or her support person.

Service Animals
Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality welcomes persons with disabilities who are accompanied by a service animal on parts of the premises open to the public. When we cannot easily identify that an animal is a service animal, our staff may ask a person to provide documentation from a regulated health professional.

Notice of Temporary Disruptions
Oliver & Bonacini Hospitality will provide public notice in the event of a planned or unexpected disruption in accessible services or facilities. This notice could be posted on the front door of our premises or the closest possible accessible area with information regarding the reason for the disruption, the anticipated duration of the disruption and alternate facilities or services, where available. Additionally and when possible, we will note a disruption to accessible services or facilities on our website.

Training
We are committed to continue training our employees on Ontario’s accessibility laws and aspects of the Ontario Human Rights Code that relate to persons with disabilities. We train our employees on accessibility and how to assist any persons with disabilities in all of our establishments as it relates to their specific role. Training includes the following:

  • Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005
  • How to welcome guests with disabilities
  • How to serve guests with different kinds of disabilities
  • How to help guests who use assistive devices
  • What to do when guests with disabilities need help accessing O&B’s goods and services
  • How to communicate and provide notice of temporarily unavailable facilities or services
  • How guests can provide feedback regarding accessibility at O&B

We will continue to review and evaluate our standards, practices and training so that we are meeting the requirements to ensure our guests with disabilities can participate and enjoy the services of all of our restaurants and event spaces.

Employment
We will notify employees, potential hires and the public that accommodations can be made during recruitment and hiring. We notify staff that supports are available for those with disabilities and put in place a process to develop individual accommodation plans for employees that require them. Where needed, we will also provide customized emergency information to help an employee with a disability during an emergency.

Feedback Process
We encourage our employees, guests and anyone visiting our offices and establishments to provide feedback on their experiences regarding the accessibility services provided by us, which O&B will respond to. Guests may provide feedback by:

  • Speaking directly to a manager while on the restaurant premise
  • Calling the restaurant or our head office directly (416-485-8047)

Oliver & Bonacini will provide this document in an accessible format or with communication support, on request. We will consult with the person making the request to determine the suitability of the format or communication support.   • Pedestrian routes to and from the main entrance have a level path.
  • All entrances — including the primary glass door, the bookshelf door and the patio doors — are wide enough to allow safe passage of persons who use mobility aids.
  • There are no automatic door openers at the entrances.

  • Elevator access is available through parking garage level P1 to Le Mount Stephen’s hotel lobby.

  • There are two assisted accessible washrooms located in the building.
  • Both washrooms require the assistance of a manager to access.
  • The upper level washroom – For guests using a wheelchair*
    • A manager will accompany the guest to the elevator
    • The elevator will take the guest to the second level
    • A mechanical lift that is easily accessible to wheelchair users will take the guest up to the third level
    • The accessible washroom is located on the third level and can be accessed with a residency fob
  • The lower level washroom – For guests using mobility aids*
    • A manger will accompany the guest to the elevator
    • The elevator will take the guest to the side entrance level
    • With assistance, the guest will take a short flight of stairs down to the lower level
    • The accessible washroom with an automatic door opener is directly to the left
