PETER OLIVER

Peter Oliver was born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, moving to Canada in 1967 to attend Montreal’s McGill University. He had a successful career in stock brokerage and commercial real estate sales before opening his first restaurant in 1978. At O&B, Peter is the passionate leader of the company’s deep-rooted service culture. In fact, he still leads every employee orientation session, ensuring that the company’s vision, values and expectations are being communicated clearly to each and every new member of the team.

In addition to running Oliver & Bonacini Restaurants, Peter is the founder and chief fundraiser of The Stephen Leacock Foundation, a successful children’s charity. Over the past ten years, the foundation has raised $4 million for children’s causes, and constructed three schools in underprivileged South Africa. Peter is also a Governor of the Royal Ontario Museum and the National Chair of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation’s Ride for a Cure.
